Nikolay Efremov was born in Moscow in 1980. He graduated at the Moscow State Conservatory “P. I. Tchaikovskiy” in voice as a Baritone. He has been one of the soloists at the Opera Theatre of the Moscow State Conservatory since 2009. In 2012 he was invited to The Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow to  perform Knyaz Nikita in  Tchaikovskiy’s Opera "Enchantress" (directed by Maestro A. Lazarev). Since 2013 he has been a soloist at the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Centre in Moscow. In 2014 he was invited  to the Theater An-Der-Wien in Wien (Austria). In 2015 he was a guest performer at the Theatre Opera des Rennes (France). In 2016 he was invited to The Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. He has been a soloist at the Syktyvkar Opera and Ballet Theatre since 2016, while in 2017 he became a soloist at the Vladivostok Theatre of Opera and Ballet and at the Kazan Theatre of Opera and Ballet. In September/October 2016 he took part in an international opera tour in the UK (with the Syktyvkar Opera and Ballet Theatre).

In his repertoire he has performed several leading roles, including Giorgio Germont in LA TRAVIATA (Verdi), Marcello and Schaunard in LA BOHEME (Puccini), Onegin in EVGENIY ONEGIN (Tschaikowski), the baritone voice in C. Saint-Saens’s “CHRISTMAS ORATORIO”, Ibn-Hakia in IOLANTA (Tschaikowski), Tonio in PAGLIACCI (Leoncavallo), King's Herald in LOHENGRIN (Wagner), Escamillo and Toreador in CARMEN (Bizet), Grigory Gryaznoy in THE TSAR'S BRIDE (Rimsky-Korsakov), the bass voice in  Bach's “H-MOLL MASS“, Baritone voice in C. Saint-Saens’s “Christmas Oratorio”, the part of Dmitriy Donskiy in Y. Shaporin's Symphonic Cantata “ON THE FIELD OF KULIKOVO”, the Baritone  voice in “STABAT MATER” (Szymanowski). He has sung in several concerts with national and international orchestras, including The Music Festival in Frankfurt (Germany, 2013), the Festival of Russian Culture in Istanbul (Turkey, 2012-2013), the Gala-concert at the State Philharmonic in Sibiu (Romania, 2013), the First Festival of Classical music Ruskeala Symphony (Russia, 2017) and in many concerts at the Moscow Conservatory (from 2009).
